Delaware Tech is migrating over to the new Microsoft Office 365 and as part of this transition our email system will be changing to Microsoft’s cloud based servers. The migration will mean a few minor changes to the way you connect to your email account on your smart devices as well as your desktop and laptop computers. You will also notice differences in the way the programs look and operate. This page will help you during the migration. Click on the “+” sign next to a topic to expand.

  1. Go to https://www.office.com/, and select the ‘Sign In’ option.

2. Enter your Delaware Tech email address

3. Sign-in with your Delaware Tech user name and password.

4. Click the waffle icon and select the application(s) you would like to access.

Step 1

  1. Install Microsoft Outlook from Google Play Store.
  2. Update if Prompted.
  3. Open when complete.

  1. If “Account Found” appears, uncheck box to the right of the account.
  2. Select “Skip”

  1. Enter your full Delaware Tech email address.
  2. Then select “Continue.”

  1. Select Office 365 as the account type.

  1. Enter your full Delaware Tech email address once again.
  2. Use the Single Sign On, SSO, to sign into Delaware Tech.

  1. Type in your full Delaware Tech email address into the text box.
  2. Select “Next.”

  1. The Delaware Tech Single Sign On, SSO, should appear if the username is correct, not a password prompt.
  2. Enter your full Delaware Tech email password into the “Delaware Tech password” text box.
  3. Select “Sign in.”

What is the Focused Inbox in Outlook 365?

Focused Inbox separates your inbox into two tabs—Focused and Other. Your most important email messages are on the Focused tab while the rest remain easily accessible—but out of the way—on the Other tab. 

How do I turn off the Focused Inbox in Outlook 365?

Click the menu button at the top of your screen. Use the Focused Inbox slider to turn Focused Inbox off.  For instructions of different versions of Outlook, select the link below.

What is Cortana?

Cortana is Microsoft’s Artificial Intelligence (AI), promoting it as a personal productivity assistant to help you save time and focus on what matters most.

How do I turn Cortana off?

  1. Sign into the Microsoft 365 admin center using your admin account. 
  2.  Select the app launcher icon in the upper-left and choose Admin. 
  3.  Expand Settings and select Org Settings. 
  4.   Select Cortana to toggle Cortana’s access to Microsoft 365 data off.

Can I still use Google Docs?

Yes Google Docs will be unaffected by the O365 migration.

Does this affect our use of Google Calendar, Drive, or other Google apps?

No, it does not affect the use of Google.

How will I know when I have been migrated to Office 365?

The biggest thing you may notice is that you will need to log back into your email account.
